About Carbon Audit

The first important step to reducing Greenhouse Gas (GHG) is to find out the amount of GHG released and to take appropriate actions to reduce such emissions. Only in this way can you take concrete steps to tackle climate change.

How does it work?

CLP𝑒 Solutions provides end-to-end consulting & engineering services for your power needs. We are listed as a Registered Electrical Contractor, and provide a Carbon Audit service in alignment with the “Guidelines to Account for and Report on Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Removals for Buildings (Commercial, Residential or Institutional Purposes) in Hong Kong (2010)” by EPD & EMSD.

If you are hoping to reduce your carbon footprint but are wondering how, CLP’s Carbon Audit can help. The team first helps you define the boundaries and scope of the carbon audit. The data collected with an on-site audit will be used for analysis. At last you can improve your carbon footprint with the carbon audit report that will include the essential mitigation measures. The length of the report will depend on the size and scale of the customer premises.

  1. Defining the physical boundary and scope of the carbon audit.
  2. Defining the operational boundary, including: a. Direct emissions and removals (e.g. gas-fired boiler, tree planting) b. Energy indirect GHG emissions (e.g. electricity & gas) c. Other indirect GHG emissions (e.g. landfill, fresh water, sewage
  3. Determining reporting period.
  4. Collecting data e.g. from the on-site audit, bills (electricity, gas, water) and usage data (papers and vehicles).
  5. Analysing the data to quantify the GHG emission, including a detailed breakdown of the GHG emission sources.
  6. Preparing a carbon audit report that includes mitigation measures to reduce carbon footprint.
